USING DYNAMIC STRETCHING TO IMPROVE MOVEMENT

Today I’d like to draw your attention to the benefits of dynamic stretching and to consider building this into your daily/weekly routine, regardless of how much sport you do. We may each respond differently to types of stretches (static vs dynamic), so it’s about finding what works for you.

Stretch Armstrong is a great way to show the effects of dynamic stretching on muscle. Initially his body is stiff and difficult to stretch out of position, if he were able to speak I expect he’d be shouting at this point due to the clear strain we are putting him under. But, after a minute or so of limbering up (dynamic movements), he stretches and distorts with ease and to your hearts content!

Dynamic stretching is excellent at helping us increase/maintain the movement in our joints, watch out for videos to follow with my personal ‘short n sweet’ dynamic stretching routines.
