The business currently collects and processes the following information:

  • Medical and health information

  • Treatment notes

  • Information provided by you the client through the following communication channels: social media websites and applications, text/ voicemail, business website, verbal or written.

  • Your/the Client's feedback/testimonials provided to the therapist through verbal or written communication.

  • Online cookies, if consent is given at the time of visiting the website, will collect information regarding your device, preferences and/or past actions, e.g. activity on website including navigation, your IP address, the date, time and frequency with which you access the website. *(see Section 5)
     

2) How and why personal information is gathered

Most of the personal information the business processes is provided directly by you the client. Reasons why information is gathered:

  • In order to respond to the client enquiry

  • In order to communicate to the client, includes marketing preferences

  • In order to provide soft tissue treatments, as booked by the client

  • In order to comply with professional standards within massage

  • Via cookies on the website in order to measure website functionality, customer experience and consumer insight

3) The business uses the information that you have given in order to

  • Communicate with the client in regards to past, current or future treatments.

  • Communicate with the client if there are changes to the business and/or its products and services that are deemed relevant for the client to know.

  • To provide home protocol information deemed as relevant to support the treatment provided by the therapist for you the client.

  • Ensure website functionality and layout meets consumer needs and interests, to understand why people are visiting the website/website traffic.

  • Information about your health and personal identity may be shared with emergency services if you become seriously unwell during treatment (efforts will be made to inform your next of kin)

  • If consent is given by you (via online consultation form before/at the start of your appointment or verbally in treatment), relevant health, symptoms and treatment plan information will be shared with fellow health professionals, e.g. physiotherapist or GP you are under the care of. Consent needs to be specific to each professional you wish to have your information shared with.

4) Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases the business relies on for processing this information are:

(a) Your verbal and/or written consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by emailing Sarahdunkleystt@outlook.com and specifying the detail of the request.

And

(b) Legitimate business interest in order to provide treatment to the client that meets their needs whilst taking into consideration their current state of health. To also be able to provide treatment continuity.


5) How your personal information is stored

Your information may be held:

  1. At the businesses registered address under lock and key. All personal information listed in section 1) of this policy is retained for 7 years and in the case of a minor (under 18 years of age), 7 years from the date they turn 18 years of age. Your information will then be destroyed by the business by shredding and deletion of any online records.*Your browsing data may be kept for as long as the website is in use.

  2. Electronically on third party platforms that are secured with passwords and accessed using password protected devices. Third party providers have confirmed they abide by GDPR law.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask the business for copies of your personal information.

  • Your right to be informed – You have the right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask the business to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask the business to complete information you think is incomplete.  

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask the business to erase your personal information in certain circumstances, after the 7 year retention period is complete.
